Uncertainty still ruling in the currency markets – 14th April 2020
Welcome back after the Easter break. GBP performed well last week and that theme has continued this morning, seeing it move higher against both the Euro and the US Dollar. It has lost a little ground versus the AUD and NZD however, so if you are a seller of either currency, give us a call today.

Uncertainty still rules as we enter another week of lock-down in the UK and many other parts of the world. President Trump is coming under increasing pressure to revise his style in his daily Covid-19 press briefings from one that simply sees himself produce evidence to defend his actions and decision making process throughout the crisis, to one that actually sees him talk about how the US is fighting the virus. Shouting matches between him and some of the press during these meetings are creating a lot of strain and actually deflecting away from the real issue at hand. In the UK, Boris’ resurrection is well and truly underway with images of him being wheeled out of ICU in London to rapturous applause and it appears his personal fight against the virus and subsequent victory after clearly coming close to the very worst outcome has won him even more hearts and minds of the men and women on the street. He is now completing his recovery and not fully back in charge just yet, but the tale of both of these world leaders couldn’t be more different in terms of their public perception at this critical time for both the US and the UK Governments.
