About Us

Founded in 2006, our aim has always been to improve currency transfers and payments for our customers.

SATFX was launched to provide secure automated transactions (SAT) for overseas workers and international sportsmen and women in the UK wishing to send money home. An ex-international rugby player was one of our first customers.

We now process in excess of £200m in currency transactions every year for our personal and business customers who rely on us to provide the most competitive exchange rates and a proactive, personal service.

That’s why customers trust us and continue to use us.

Experienced, knowledgeable and approachable – the SATFX team are dedicated to providing clients with the highest levels of service and expertise.

Emily Winch
Compliance Officer

Emily is a key part of our Compliance Team, joining SAT FX in 2017 after studying Law, Psychology and English at Henley College following a year spent working as a nursey practitioner. Her responsibilities include new account set-up, transaction monitoring and screening as well as overseeing inbound and outbound payments. Emily lives in Henley, is a regular at the gym and manicure bar, supports her local rugby team, the Henley Hawks and enjoys a cold Amstel.

Adam Cotton

Adam set-up SAT FX in October 2006 after spending 7 years working in sales, trading and account management roles for one of the UK’s largest foreign currency companies. Initially starting from his spare bedroom, Adam has grown SATFX into an FCA Authorised Payment Institution, trading over £650m along the way. A 1st team footballer and 1st team rugby player at University, Adam spends his spare time with his wife and three children exploring the outdoors near his home, playing rugby for Henley Hawks 4th’s and Vet’s teams and expanding his gin collection.

James Underhay Pic Cropped

James Underhay
Head of FX Services

James has worked in the FX markets for 16 years for some of the industries biggest organisations. His roles have spanned sales, trading and strategic management, helping to drive growth whilst building high performing teams. His natural flair for rapport building gels well with his highly energetic outlook, so it’s always buzzy with him in the office. Outside of the office, James is a huge motor sport fan as well as a doting dad to his two children. He is also a keen golfer when time permits and very partial to a well made G&T. He joined SATFX in April 2019 to bolster the management team and support the growth plans of the business moving forward.

We are always looking for talented individuals of all levels, including internships, who are ambitious, driven and motivated by client satisfaction.

If you have a proven track record in the foreign currency industry or a desire to get involved please email enquiries@satfx.co.uk with your CV and a covering note on why you’d love to join our team.
